Greening the Monterey Diocese: Holy Cross Santa Cruz

Looking to answer Pope Francis' call to care for creation, Holy Cross Church & School approached Greenpower in 2016 to outfit its 200+ year old campus with state-of-the-art solar and energy efficiency technology. Through our program, this congregation nearly eliminated its electric bill and achieved net savings of $9,000 in the first year alone. The estimated $1 million net in electricity costs they will save over the next 25 years is now free to go toward student supplies, the Church's food pantry, or other community services instead!

"Going solar with Greenpower is the best stewardship of our financial resources and the best stewardship of the Earth. I think they go hand in hand!" Fr. Martin Cain, Holy Cross Church

We encourage you to learn more about our work with the Monterey Diocese and Holy Cross Church and School. This Earth Day weekend, your contribution to Greenpower can help dramatically reduce California's carbon footprint. Our sincere thanks for your stewardship of the world we share.
